Deconstructing Disney: Make Music Mine (1946)

make music mine

Welcome to part nine of a six-hundred-and-sixty-six-billion part project that lives inside my brain, pulling levers that make me do horrible things to Mickey Mouse figurines. By now you know the score: Our memories of Disney movies are all lies. I am here to spread the truth. So let’s rock this bitch.

It’s time for Make Music Mine, Motherfucker.

Deconstructing Disney: Dumbo (1941)

This is part four of a (never-ending) project that will send me to an early grave.

We all have fond memories from their childhoods of Disney movies. But fond memories are there to be destroyed, and I have taken it upon myself to bring forth that destruction, by rewatching every Disney movie ever, in release order, and ripping them to shreds with my cynical, world-weary adult eyes.

And on that note, faithful reader, join me on a magical adventure about a mentally handicapped mute who believes he can fly, in Disney’s 1941 original motion picture ‘Dumbo’.

Sleeping sideways

Not literally sideways; I’d imagine a fair few people do that.

I’m talking sideways as an analogy for different from the norm. For example, I haven’t slept for over 24 hours; I’m working on a music video for Lovecraft, and as it’s all shot on greenscreen, I’ve estimated it’ll need about 150 man hours, not including rendering. However, I also have three other projects on, not including planning the new Howard Be Thy Name show; so I’d like to get it done in the next 5-10 days. This is where sleeping sideways comes in.

Yet another award.

I just received and email informing me that Il Fungo Sirena, a movie I created the opening sequence/titles for, has won an award at The Granada Film Festival.

Now obviously, there were 60 or so people involved in the creation of the movie, so I can’t take *full* credit for the win. But on the other hand, I am entirely happy to accept 1.6% of the glory that the calculator declares is duly deserved by me.
